What home improvement work really costs in the UK, before you ask anyone for a quote. Each guide gives the typical price, the range most jobs fall within and where the money goes, so you know what a reasonable quote looks like when it arrives.
Then it carries on where most cost guides stop: the VAT rate your job is charged at, any grant that comes off the price, and what is left to pay. Every price is adjusted for the 12 UK regions, because the same job costs more in London than it does in Newcastle.

Guide prices are compiled from published UK price guides and trade sources, then scaled by region using local labour rates. VAT rules are checked against HMRC guidance, and grants against the bodies that run them. How we price.
